Viola Jull, owner of French Country, immersed herself in all aspects of the French decorative arts while living and traveling in France. During her frequent buying trips to France, Vi has introduced small groups to the pleasures of the French countryside, focusing on local food and wine, and the enchantment of the antique fairs, flea markets and out-of-the-way brocante shops. In 1997 she opened French Country on Roxborough Street in downtown Toronto, with the mandate of selecting beautiful and unique items with a sense of whimsy, romance or casual elegance.

When Vi visited Prince Edward County in 2009 she was taken by its beauty, charm and creative energy. Without looking back, she decided to move her business to Main Street, Picton. Her store was featured in Canadian House and Home magazine in 2010. French Country moved to a second location (237 Main Street) in spring 2012, and is delighted with the new venue.
